I grew up in Wyoming, in the "big city" of Casper, which seemed cosmopolitan at the time. Over the fence was miles of prairie, the mountains and plenty of adventure. There is still a bit of that cowboy adventurer in me.

The University of Wyoming in Laramie, the highest in the US at over 7,000 feet elevation, offered a new view of the world and universe. I was part of WIRO - Infrared Observatory - (at the time) the largest infrared (2.3 meter) and first large computer controlled telescope on the planet. Here, I learned to love mathematics, astronomy, mountain climbing, winter camping, teaching and much more.

MIT and Boston was home for several chapters of my life. Here I gained experience as Professor, Father, Husband and the Founder of small companies. The stimulation of ideas, possibilities that seemed endless and lifelong friends made this time so precious. Mentoring students offered me rich opportunity to challenge and be challenged.

Northern California has been my home since 1990. Large companies and startups each have given me lessons in politics, human potential and behavior. Sun Microsystems, OpenTV, Sendmail were very different cultures and yet the dynamics of product, customer, marketplace so similar.

Today, I am fortunate to bring all of my skills and experience together as a coach and consultant. With partners or solo, the creation of ideas, new vision and watching them unfold in people and companies makes my work fulfilling. Workshops, individual coaching, consulting projects, several book projects and my role as a parent of two teenage sons all contribute to my Creative Large Life. (Click for details of my experience.)

Go-Associates - Founded by Howard Greenfield, I collaborate with this consulting group offering Trans Atlantic partnerships and marketing services. Clients have included large and small companies in both Europe and the US.

Sierra College - Peering at the stars at the new robotic telescope, presenting the theory in class. I enjoy instructing students in Astronomyand Math at this local college.

Michele Balk - Together, we develop and deliver workshops and teleclasses for individuals and organizations. With years of experience in her own counseling private practice, Michele provides excellent balance in our co-creative process.

New Leaders Institute - Together with a team of leaders, educators, parents a curriculum for training the leaders of the future. Junior High to College age students are benefiting from the work of this young not for profit organization. Join us in making global change.

The CALL - This organization of approximately 1000 individuals from around the globe, is comprised of graduates of the Co-Active Leadership program offered by CTI. I collaborate with members of this group to offer experiential learning in many different formats.
